Dear Parents,

The Heights Hammerheads swim season gets underway next week with practices beginning on Monday, April 26! Please read this email in full for details on our COVID-19 policy and practice policies.

Safety Check Update: For those attending the safety check, we will see you tomorrow. Please wear masks. The bathrooms/locker rooms in the pool area will be closed, however, there are bathrooms available in the playground annex if needed.

COVID-19 Policies: Before heading out to the pool, please review our COVID-19 policy on our website so we can do our part to keep all of our families, swimmers, coaches, and volunteers safe and healthy. We need volunteers to help with implementing the COVID-19 policies at practices, mainly helping with swimmer entry and exit, so please see the volunteer sign up for the first week of practice HERE. We need two parent volunteers per practice.

Entry/Exit Instructions

• Swimmers should arrive ready to swim with suit and swim cap on, no earlier than 5 minutes prior to practice. **Volunteers will hand out caps at the entrance gate during the first week of practice.
• Swimmers will check in at the gate, drop swim bags and personal items at the benches if needed (see map), and proceed to Pre-Practice Corral to await instructions from coaches.
• No parents will be allowed on the pool deck. Parents may wait for swimmers in the playground area.
• At the conclusion of practice, all swimmers will be required to exit through the playground gate, so plan to pick your child up in the playground area. There will be volunteers present to help swimmers navigate these procedures.

Face Covering Policies

• Swimmers are required to wear face coverings when not actively practicing or racing.
• Coaches are required to wear face coverings except during practices or in the event of an emergency requiring CPR. Coaches have been asked to wear masks when talking with swimmers during practices or meets at distances less than 6 feet.
• All persons attending a Hammerhead swim meet or on-deck event MUST wear a face mask or cloth face covering (over the nose and mouth) while on the premises, with the exception of children under the age of 2.

Practice Policy: Lastly, please do not approach our coaches during practice hours unless there is an emergency. Our coaches are our lifeguards on duty during practice, and it is a safety hazard to distract their attention from the pool.
