Hi Hammerhead Families,

The season is off to a great start! Please read below for information on our inclement weather policy/communication, meet officials training (we need you!), parent volunteer signups for week 2 of practice, and practice exit/entry reminders.

Summary:

1. Download, login, and allow notifications for the SwimTopia Mobile App to receive inclement weather push notifications.
2. Meet Officials Training on May 23 at 3pm at Nottingham Forest. If you are interested in volunteering as a stroke judge, touch & turn judge, place judge, or meet director, please plan to attend. Sign up here.
3. Practice Safety Volunteer signup for week 2 of practice now available.
4. Lost & Found box available at the swimmer exit gate. Please label everything (towels, swim caps, shoes, goggles) with swimmers first and last name.
5. Please enter pool from entrance gates only and refrain from coming in through the playground exit entrance.
6. Trash In / Trash Out – please be sure you are picking up after yourself and your families. The playground/backyard is a great space! Please help us keep it clean.

Inclement Weather Policy

In the case of practice cancellations due to inclement weather, we will send push notifications through the SwimTopia app. Please be sure you have downloaded the SwimTopia app (links below) and signed into your Hammerheads account. You will also need to allow notifications from this app. Note that cancellations will likely happen 15 - 30 minutes before practice. Official inclement weather policy here.

Meet Officials Training

May 23 is the sole date for Official Training for the 2021 season. This training is a requirement for any parent/guardian who is interested in volunteering to be in a meet official position during this years swim season. Meet official volunteer positions are meet director, place judges, stroke judges, starter, and touch& turn judges. Interested?!?! Safety & Exit Practice Volunteers for Week 2 (May 3-7) are live on SwimTopia! This is great way for parents to volunteer and get involved! Thank you all for your help.

Practice Entry/Exit Reminders

Gates for entry into practice will be closed until 5 minutes prior to practice start. We ask swimmers/parents to wait patiently until entrance gate is opened. Please enter pool from entrance gates only and refrain from coming in through the playground exit entrance. Friendly reminder in particular to the younger groups to stay behind the fence during practices.
